Description
This painting was inspired by my walks through the rainforests of Seychelles, where every step feels like entering a living cathedral of light and color. 'Jungle Tetrachromacy' captures that sensation of being enveloped by cascading lianes and the endless greens of the tropical canopy, all illuminated by the glow of the late afternoon sun.
As I painted, I wanted to evoke the moment when daylight begins to shift — when gold seeps into the leaves and shadows deepen into pools of ultramarine. The vines seem to breathe, their red stems pulsing like veins through the forest’s body, while the intricate patterns beneath them echo the teeming, unseen life of the jungle floor.
'Jungle Tetrachromacy' is a celebration of perception — an attempt to paint not just what the eye sees, but what the spirit feels
The work measures 24 x 18 x 0.5 inches, painted in oil with the sides finished in ultramarine so it may be hung unframed. It is signed and dated in the lower right corner, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
