The artist and the clown Oil

This is a still life with a nuanced twist. Like many an artist I have to admit to occasional feelings of inadequacy or imposter syndrome - it goes with the territory. The image includes a clown, often associated with a certain malevolence as well as lacking seriousness, and an artist's model (every artist has one). But as well as the subdued lighting I have suggested a mixing of roles in the title underlining how most artists suffer this feeling every now and then.
