Job Done Acrylic

I generally paint from digital images, and the good thing about that is that I don't always have to be the one who took the photograph - sometimes friends and family help me out by sending me photos to paint from.

My reference for this painting was sent to me by a friend who lives in Ireland, and I found the image intriguing. There was a story behind this scene that was worthy of capturing on canvas. I loved the character of the boat that had previously seen better days, but for all that, its worn blue paint blended beautifully the sky behind it. The cheerful colours worked well together on a sunny day.
