Description
Bagan ( formerly Pagan ) is a UNESCO heritage site on the bank of Irrawaddy river in central Burma. In the height of the Pagan kingdom from 11 to 13 centuries more than 10,000 temples, pagodas and monasteries were built and about 2200 still survived.
Now a days they are dotted amongst the sunflower, cotton, pea and palm plantations.
The sunset at Bagan is very unique against the river and mountains beyond.
The Buddhist monks are going to their monastery, tourists are enjoying the bullock cart ride and locals are serving the region's famous teddy palm wine at their little makeshift huts near the palm trees!
