Description
Pink Mountain; Mountain Theme Study,
Acrylic on paper
I started the work with a single, continuous, chalk line on the paper. Jaggedly moving towards the top and ending with a swirly finish. I feel this is the most important aspect of the painting as it creates the basis of movement and energy for the rest of the work. The foundation on what the rest of the artwork is built upon.
I thought the chalk line resembled a mountain range and so I began painting in colours which would be harmonious with the theme.
I gradually built up the dark muted shades in green, black, grey and purple, then layered in some lighter blues, silvery whites and purples for the mid ground, which remind me of beautiful crystals and amethysts, and to add a sense of distance in the work. I added a pink mountain as a focal point in the work.
For the top of the painting, I used blues, reds, orange and yellows to create a sunset sky, while still retaining an abstract feel to the work by keeping to the shapes of the original chalk line drawing.
The painting has my signature on the front and on the back my name with the paintings title, date and dimensions.
All paintings are securely packaged in acid free tissue paper, cellophane, ridged cardboard/one inner card backed envelope and one outer padded envelope.
My paintings are sent 1st class
