Description
This painting was created during the 2020 pandemic. It was inspired by a customer for whom I was doing wall painting in his house.
During my self-isolation, I spent a lot of time in this location and was struck by how intense the desire for solitude can be. This location is far from the city, in the midst of endless forests that remind me of Siberia. I even visited there once for a speleologist convention, and I never imagined I would be working in such deep forests.
It turned out to be an incredible experience since everyone stayed within four walls and learned the value of having their own space to be one with nature.
Since this painting was created at the same time that I was thinking about the “Italy” series, it was included in the same series because it conveys the same idea.
I was inspired to paint this artwork by the ambience after the rain, when I went out to look at the house from a distance. The colors of the cold, wet forest and the setting sun behind it were stunning at that moment. That day, my friends and I were discussing the scary news and pandemic forecasts, and this landscape was like reminding me that everything passes and there is something timeless in this world that is continuously changing yet remains itself.
I painted this painting at home a few days later, based on the impressions left by this place.
Perhaps each viewer will see something different in this artwork. One viewer, for example, said that she saw a Patronus on this painting during one of the several exhibitions where this painting was displayed. After that, I began to notice it as well.
