Description
An original watercolour painting in landscape format, on Windsor & Newton Cotman 140lbs watercolour paper.
Originally inspired by a background panel on a news program, on a local UK TV channel UK. The initial sketch had four geometric shapes of various lengths, veering to the left. A clear smooth sky blue wash provides the background.
On hearing the Lighthouse Family's "Ocean Drive" on the radio, that was to become the focus for this work.
Things were going well until the caerulean blue background started to cause "bleed" into other areas. Annoying, I had to make adjustments to keep things crisp & sharp.
The small orange panels on either side could be golden beaches in the background of a towering cityscape. By letting the paper do a lot of the work, there is a definate 3 dimensional effect.
