Description
An original watercolour picture in portrait format on Windsor & Newton Cotman paper 140lbs.
An image using the chiaroscuro effect, mastered by Caravaggio in the late 16th & early 17th century. The subject of the picture is in full light, contrasted with dark hues to bring it into sharp focus.
I do not know whether this style has been used with watercolour, but after several trials and tribulations, I believe I have got there.
To be different, a stocky tattooed middle aged man is used as one of the main figures.
Why would a bloke be walking around in the dead of night, in the wilderness, with no kit on. Why indeed, but then again...why not?
This picture does have form, as it was selected by the Royal Cambrian Arts Academy in March 2021, to be exhibited at the academy in Conwy, North Wales.
Unfortunately, it did not sell on that occasion, but You could be the future proud owner. It is a different image, nudity and bums are not everyone's cup of tea, but it is vibrant with loads of atmosphere.
