Description
The beautiful Kimmeridge Bay is one of my local beaches, here on the Dorset jurassic coast. This view is my take from the carpark ,looking towards Clavell Tower with the wild tree mallows in the foreground, which bloom in May.
I have employed my signature layering technique in the foreground, which I began using in 2023. Using a single hair from my head, I drag it through the paint on a brush, on to the canvas to create a fine line which can only be controlled to a small degree. This gives me a pleasing, random texture like grass fronds caught in the wind.
When painting local scenes, I love the expansive sky and enjoy cloud watching as well as the glorious sunrises and sunsets.
