A square-format semi-abstract canvas of dragonflies and cow parsley.
These lifeforms—winged and rooted—have threaded through my life since childhood, rich in memory and meaning.
In folklore, dragonflies are said to be the souls of the recently departed, a belief echoed across cultures. I’ve heard uncanny first-hand tales of their sudden appearance in unexpected places, just as someone slips from this world… haunting, beautiful, and strangely comforting.
Painted in oil and metallic acrylic, built up through fine, translucent layers over several drying sessions, the surface shimmers like silk paint or stained glass.
Matt varnish finish, 60 x 60 x 1 cm, with crisp white sides.
The work is signed and dated on the front lower right corner, and again on the reverse.
