OUTER BANKS Wash Day – The Story

“OUTER BANKS Wash Day” is for all the Netflix “Outer Banks” fans out there.

I was driving with my family along the West Coast road of Barbados in an open top Jeep. As always with Barbadian weather, the temperature was 30 degrees day or night and today it was a little gusty, but very pleasant.

Suddenly there was a shout “STOP THE CAR!!!”, from my teenage daughters. Before us, was a magnificent mushroom-shaped limestone bolder, growing from the ocean. Who would have thought my kids could get so excited by an ancient geological formation. Mmmm “It’s OUTER BANKS” they say to my nonplussed face.

After being educated with the “real” importance (ha ha ha) of this truly sublime piece of scenery and Netflix serialisation, I took a photo.

I love the juxtaposition of the guy taking a break from his wash day to absorb the genuine beauty laid out before him and I wonder if he has ever seen Netflix, “OUTER BANKS”?

All my artwork works are digital creations. There are separate layers of drawings laid on top of each other using the same methodology as David Hockney’s digital drawings “Fresh pictures of a very beautiful world”.
The portraits are drawn almost like a police photo fit. There is also layering of colour and all pieces are manipulated digitally 100’s to 1000’s of times. This allows for a complexity and texture in my electronic works.
To create even more depth and texture each work of art is printed onto finest art photographic paper, using the Giclée Hahnemühle print methodology.

Every print is numbered and priced accordingly.

The picture has a border to assist with framing.
