The Geological Memory Mixed Media

This abstract evokes the surface of an ancient planet, eroded stone, mineral formations and the movement of tectonic layers. The diagonal organic structure creates a powerful visual journey through the composition, while the cracked surfaces contrast beautifully with the smoother, raised pebble-like formations. The restrained palette of silver, graphite, charcoal and subtle champagne-gold highlights gives the work sophistication without making it overly decorative. I particularly like the contrast between the quieter upper-left area and the more complex lower and central sections. Its main opportunity for improvement would be to introduce a little more tonal separation in selected raised formations to make the relief even more dimensional.
