'Autumn Orchid'

I'm constantly moving plants around in my house looking to discover them in a new way. I put this orchid on the window sill and loved how the afternoon light illuminated the petals and highlighted the rich greens of the curvy leaves. Sometimes a chance placement at a particular time of day is all the inspiration I need to create a painting that excites me.
