MIDDLE END PLANTATION Acrylic

Near Middle End Farm The plantation appears to be a kind of experimental area as I have seen helicopters from Durham University hovering over it. I just go there for the wild beauty of the place and the birds. To me there is no better sound in nature than the long drawn out cry of the Curlew in Spring. The road shown goes through the valley from Middleton in Teesdale and climbs over the moors to Stanhope in Weardale. A great drive. Note the snow posts along the roadside that show the snow plough where the road is after a heavy fall.
