Description
The wild grasses and delicate white campion are interwoven in the tangle of growth along the margins of a field in the Fens of Cambridgeshire. I love these quiet, overlooked places where nature is allowed to grow freely, creating an intricate tapestry of stems, seed heads and fragile flowers.
I have kept the palette light and airy, using delicate washes and subtle variations of colour to evoke the freshness and luminosity of the Fenland landscape. Fine, expressive marks mingle with softer passages of watercolour, capturing the seemingly chaotic yet beautiful patterns of grasses and wildflowers.
