Guided by intuition, I begin with broad brushwork to lay down the foundation, then build up layers of texture using impasto techniques and a palette knife. Drawing inspiration from the optical blending techniques of the Impressionists, I apply expressive, vibrant colours in such a way that, from a distance, the marks visually merge into a richly immersive woodland scene.
The painting continues around the edges of the canvas, enhancing its sense of depth and continuity. It comes fully finished and ready to hang, no framing required.
