Rocks and Waves Acrylic

My son lived in Cardiff for while, and he took the reference photograph for this painting when on a trip to a nearby stretch of coast in Wales. I loved the light quality in this image, and the way the sun reflects on the sea. The sky is quite dramatic and yet cheerful at the same time, and the sea is just rough enough to add something special to the scene. I particularly like the way the sun radiates on the crest of the waves, contrasting with the darker, cooler colours of the rocks and the blue sea and sky.

I take every care when packaging paintings. They are firstly wrapped in acid free tissue, and then double wrapped in bubble wrap to protect the canvas. The painting is then placed in a custom made box which is securely taped up and then wrapped in brown paper ready for dispatch. This painting is unframed and ready to hang.
