High Summer, Fenland Skies Watercolours

A vibrant landscape watercolour inspired by the summer fields of the Fens near Ely in Cambridgeshire. A profusion of wildflowers, grasses and delicate cow parsley fills the foreground, creating a rich tapestry of colour beneath the open Fenland sky.

Living in the Fens, I am continually inspired by the vast skies and the wonderful sense of space created by the uninterrupted views towards a distant horizon. Within the apparent chaos of the meadow, I found intriguing patterns and rhythms in the vegetation, giving the painting an almost abstract quality while retaining a strong sense of the Fenland landscape.

Painted using professional watercolour paints and acrylic ink on acid-free 140lb watercolour paper.

The painting measures 11.75 x 15 inches / 29.84 x 38.1 cm and is presented in a 23 x 20-inch / 58.42 x 50.8 cm buttermilk-coloured mount.

A Certificate of Authenticity, signed by myself, accompanies each original painting.
