Description
Inspired by a beautiful forest near my studio in the Peak District, this original painting captures the essence of autumn with tones of amber, copper, red, and gold. The mood is one of peaceful calm and quiet optimism, as light filters gently through delicate leaves, illuminating the scene with a golden glow.
In the foreground, abstract textures created using a palette knife evoke the forest floor and layers of falling leaves, while the fusion of distant light and deep shadows speaks to the serenity of nature in transition. This painting is a window into a world where peace and vitality coexist—a poetic reflection of the forest’s spirit in fall.
Created using high-quality acrylic paints on a deep-edged canvas, this one-of-a-kind artwork began with on-site observation, notes, and photographs. I developed the piece intuitively in the studio, building up base layers with brushes and completing it with expressive impasto techniques using a palette knife. Influenced by the optical mixing of the Impressionists, I layered colours to create depth, harmony, and movement.
The painting extends around the edges of the canvas, is signed on the front, and is ready to hang, no frame required.
