Island Forest Mosaic Watercolours

A vibrant modern botanical watercolour and ink inspired by the lush tropical landscapes that surrounded me during my years living in Seychelles. The work draws on my memories of wandering through the islands' rich and varied vegetation, where colour and pattern seemed to appear at every turn.

Caladiums grow freely across the forest floor in Seychelles, their beautifully marked leaves creating little oases of colour amongst the deep greens and shadows of the undergrowth. Their striking shapes and intricate patterns provided the inspiration for this richly decorative composition, in which overlapping leaves, flowing stems and flashes of colour evoke the vitality and abundance of a tropical forest.

The painting is 19 x 15 inches / 48.26 x 38.1 cm, sold in a 21 x 26 inch / 53.34 x 66.04 cm soft white double mount, and issued with a Certificate of Authenticity.
