Description
A moody textured interpretation of the image of Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827). Beethoven's stern appearance is in contrast to the deeply moving and often sublimely beautiful music.
One of his most famous and recognisable works became known as the "Moonlight Sonata" following a remark by the German music critic and poet, Ludwig Rellstab who compared the effect of the first movement to that of moonlight shining upon Lake Lucerne. The colouring in the artwork reflects that mood.
Beethoven's music endures and continues to inspire and uplift
