Artistic background

Working mostly En Plein Air, Phil tries to capture light and atmosphere through the use of pure watercolour. He was initially inspired by James Fletcher-watson and then other 20th century artists. He has now carved his own path, painting mainly in the UK and having a great love for the Lake District and the flatlands around his home in the Lincolnshire fens. Phil is always willing to take on commissions, both house portraits and favourite places and can work from photos.
