Artistic background

I am Paul Michael Kiernan a UK based artist and illustrator

I recently gave up a 30 year career in the Print and graphics industry to become a full time Artist and realise the path in life I always wanted , I work a few hours each morning as a part time driver which keeps me in touch with people as being an Artist can be a very solitary existence although being an animal lover I am never alone surrounded by cats and my faithful Dobermann bitch who never leaves my side . So my Afternoons and evenings I am usually in my studio working sometimes throughout the night..

I do not have a fixed style except for the use of colour and strong lines in my work , I am constantly discovering new artists that I admire and gain influence from, constantly evolving and trying new ideas..

Abstract art is my real passion and is the direction I will follow eventually but I find that my fun colourful watercolours are always in demand and have been reproduced in a line of greetings cards so I have to have stock available which keeps me very busy.

Artists I like and admire ,the list is long but a few favourites are Tamara de Lempika , Picasso, Paul Kenton , Jackson Pollock , George Large and Mike Bernard to name a few.
