Artistic background

I’m a landscape/seascape artist who works in both watercolours and acrylics with a particular passion for trees, particularly winter trees. Most of my work is imaginative, drawing inspiration from the Worcestershire countryside where I live and without any initial drawing each painting gradually evolves from an initial loose wash.The variety in the size, shape, texture and randomness of trees provides an endless scope for experimentation, from subtle watercolours with a limited palette to more vibrant works focussing on colour and texture.
I have exhibited throughout the U.K. and for many years have led workshops and done demonstrations for art societies all over the Midlands.
For many years I was an elected member of the Birmingham Watercolour Society and also ran an art group in my own village in Worcestershire.
