Artistic background

I'm largely self taught, having taken up drawing and painting in my 50s. I started by drawing people and animals and went on to take commissions for pet portraits, mostly in pastels. Today, I prefer working in acrylics, painting the the things I see around me, in a traditional/realistic style, using my own photographs as reference. I capture whatever amuses, gives me joy or moves me in one way or another. I'm particularly drawn to the quirkier side of animal and human behaviour
