Jo Keeley
WORCESTERI am an artist who works with acrylic paint on canvas to create original pieces inspired by nature, mythology, and the spirit of the wild. My artwork often features animals—especially British wildlife such as hares, foxes, and woodland creatures—capturing their character and presence in vivid, imaginative ways.
Alongside wildlife, I also explore the connection between people and nature, sometimes weaving human figures together with animals and mythical beings. My style has been described as ethereal, woodland, and dreamlike, evoking a sense of wonder and timelessness.
Whether it’s a hare beneath the moon, a fox curled in the stars, or a mythical creature born of imagination, each piece is painted with care and storytelling at its heart. My work celebrates the beauty of the natural world and the quiet magic that lives within it.
Artistic background
I am a UK-based painter living and working in Worcestershire. Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, my practice explores a wide range of themes, blending the natural with the fantastical. My work features animals, people, and mythical creatures, often interwoven with elements of storytelling and mysticism.I have a deep appreciation for nature and its hidden magic, my paintings evoke emotion through layered narratives and symbolic imagery. Each piece draws the viewer into a world where reality and the imaginary coexist, offering moments of reflection, curiosity, and wonder.
Though largely self-taught in my painting technique, I hold both a degree and a Master’s in Fine Art. This academic foundation, combined with intuitive exploration, has allowed me to balance formal composition with expressive freedom.
Quote
"Through my paintings, I seek to reveal the unseen, to capture the pulse of nature’s mysteries, and to invite the viewer into a world where emotion and imagination intertwine. Every brushstroke is a step closer to telling a story only the heart can understand."Jo Keeley
