There is something about looking up at a vast Northumberland sky that fills me with awe and wonder. In those moments, the world seems to become smaller, quieter and somehow less significant. It is this feeling of being both grounded and humbled by the landscape that inspires my work. I Work in oils, to build layers of colour and texture to recreate the ever changing light, atmosphere and mood of the landscape. I want my paintings to capture that feeling — those fleeting moments when the sky stops you in your tracks.
