Artistic background
I learned etching at Hampstead School of Art however my painting is self taught. I was too busy earning a living to go to Art school but have always been involved in various projects. I have taught art to children in India, North and South, Peru, China, Brazil and Art Therapy to adults in a psychiatric unit in Ghana. I have painted tiny miniatures and enormous murals, but my favourite size is around A4.
Quote
"There are painters who transform the sun to a yellow spot, but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence, transform a yellow spot into the sun.” Picasso
Interests
I have a full time job working with an international school in Algeria, that, along with painting and etching, takes all my time apart from a 3-hour a day reading habit. I travel a fair amount - individual travel - but never for very long - max 3 weeks, owing to the number of pets requiring my attention. (I share my house with a cat, two chinchillas and a tortoise.) I also have two grown children and sometimes travel with them. The worst being the Gibbon Experience in Laos and the best (so far) is a toss up between Iceland, Kenya and Japan.
