Welsh artist Christopher Langley has carved a distinctive place in the contemporary art world since his acclaimed debut solo exhibition at Pontypridd Museum and Gallery in 2012. His expressive and thought-provoking work has since graced galleries across Cardiff, London, Newport, York, and even New York—earning him a growing international reputation.

In 2014 and 2015, Langley’s work was honoured by the prestigious Lumen Prize, which celebrates the intersection of art and technology, where he was selected among the top 50 and 100 digital artworks worldwide. This recognition speaks to the innovation and emotional depth that define his evolving portfolio.

Interests

My art is deeply rooted in the places and stories that matter to me—like the Newport Suspension Bridge and the Old Bridge at Pontypridd. I draw inspiration from the rich heritage of Welsh culture, working in abstract impressionist and expressionist styles to celebrate the people, towns, and landscapes of Wales and beyond. You’ll find my work in galleries and shops across Wales. I’ve also had the pleasure of sharing my journey on Bro Radio, BBC Radio Wales, and S4C, as well as in various publications.
