Artistic background

My interpretations are created through intuition. The process is pure in its spontaneity and fluidity. What appears on the canvas is my internal monologue that is deeply and intimately personal, yet universal.

Inspiration comes from both my life experiences, challenges traversed, as a platform for my continued growth and strength. Living on the East Coast of Australia most of my life, I was surrounded by picturesque beaches, and memories of a past long gone. Now living in the East Midlands of the UK, after packing up my life in a suitcase to be with my only son, I have flourished both in my career, relationships and love. Using bold, sharp lines as my language, my art is alive with emotion through bold palette strikes and exaggerated tones. My use of colour is exuberant and passionate. Much like the challenges I depict in my work, each painting is steeped with character - much like my experiences overcome.

Donating one of my kidneys to my ill mother put into perspective a life of humility, generosity and courage for me.

I am self-taught throughout my career, and have studied at Nottingham Trent University. I am influenced by no one in particular but love the vast array of wonderful expression out there, showcasing their amazing creativity and talent.
