Description
This painting marked a turning point in my practice, the moment I realised I could create work with real emotional depth and impact. The layers of text, colour, and collage hold something personal, yet they reach beyond that into shared feeling. It remains one of the pieces I’m most connected to, and releasing it now feels like letting that discovery continue its journey outward.
This work combines layers of acrylic, collage, and text to create a rich, tactile surface. A central circular form, an eye, draws the viewer inward through fields of burnished orange, umber, and ochre. Fragments of printed text and the date “1853” suggest traces of history or memory emerging through the paint. The composition balances precision with spontaneity, inviting reflection on what is seen, remembered, or half-forgotten.
