Description
Moonlit Cascades captures a nocturnal landscape where a moonlit stream threads through a shadowed forest. The painting is built with layered brushwork and a restrained palette of deep ambers, charcoal greys, and cool blues, creating a mood of quiet movement and elusive light. Dashes of golden highlights in the sky and along the water suggest moonbeams playing on water and foliage, inviting the viewer to linger and drift into the scene.
It has a free approach with expressive brushstrokes to convey motion and contrast between dark silhouettes and glints of moonlight.
I created Moonlit Cascades as part of my personal journey with brain injury. Painting helps me refocus and re-engage with the world around me, turning everyday moments into expressive color and form. This work embodies resilience, concentration, and the healing power of art. It also represents how I prefer darker lights and stillness since I fell and hit my head.
