Description
The west coast of Tasmania is aptly named the Wild West .The mixture of temperate rain forest and long beaches face the mighty southern ocean .
There are few townships . One of them , Strahan ( pronounced strawn) a remote historic town on the rugged west coast serves as a primary gateway to Macquarie harbour and is protected by the Macquarie Heads and is a gateway to the UNESCO listed Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area .It was built on logging ,mining and fishing and now relies on fishing and tourism .
As we came out of the seafront restaurant we were greeted by a stunning sunset . This painting is sourced from several photos taken. It is mixed media….watercolour, acrylic, acrylic ink and oil pastels .It is on Bockingford 140lb paper and is unframed.
