Description
Sycamore Gap features one of the most photographed trees in the United Kingdom. This area of Hadrian's Wall, known as Castle Nick, situated in a dramatic dip in the wall near milecastle 39. Some know this as the Robin Hood Tree as it was featured in the Kevin Costner film 'Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves'.
I visit Hadrian's Wall many times to photograph, sketch and simply to walk, soaking in the fabulous landscape that surrounds this incredible piece of history.
I painted this oil on canvas following a summertime visit.
It is sold unframed with painted sides, ready to hang.
