Out of the Mist - HMS Westminster Prints

HMS Westminster - ‘Out of the Mist’. Glicee embellished print. (Hand finished & varnished) No more than 80 will ever be produced.

I wanted to create an abstract piece showing the presence & defence of the Royal Navy. The texture and detailing is all done using palette knives. In terms of scale I felt a larger piece would do the vessel justice.

Currently the future of HMS Westminster is uncertain which is why I choose to use a more ghostly presence with the warship coming out of the mist.

HMS Westminster is a warship that was in use until recently. Based in Portsmouth the ship has been all over the world. It’s was also used in the James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies.
