Description
This was exhibited recently at the Royal Society of Martine Artists Annual Exhibition, Mall Galleries, London.
Inspired by the strange wonders from under the sea and the duality contained in the porcupine fish which appears to say "I am cute, but do not touch!". There is a hard and soft quality to the fish also giving rise to my choosing clay only for the body and wood for the spikes. I have given it an amusing, self-satisfied expression, I think. Also, if you want to touch this porcupine fish.....you can....but gently! Not for the easy reach of children, though.
Materials: clay, gesso, wood, sand and resin.
