Description
A block of sky made solid —
that’s what this paperweight feels like, Richard.
A captured fragment of blue air, stilled into glass,
holding within it a dragon that seems to breathe
even though it is carved from light.
The creature coils in a slow, eternal spiral,
its golden body rising through drifting clouds
as if the plaque were not a windowpane
but a portal into some quiet myth
where time moves differently.
The engraving glows as though lit from within,
each scale a flicker of dawn,
each curl of cloud a soft exhale.
Set on the windowsill, it gathers the day around it —
the pale outdoor stones, the muted sky —
and turns them into a kind of offering.
It is small, yes, but it carries the hush
of something ancient and watchful,
a guardian sealed in glass,
resting in your hand like a secret
that has chosen to stay.
A singular and unique hand created solid class paper weight embellished with high quality gold leaf.
