Description
Memory Lines is a deeply expressive mixed-media portrait that explores the ways in which memory is inscribed upon the body. The figure’s elongated form is marked with motifs drawn from traditional Romanian embroidery, symbols once woven into garments as silent carriers of protection and identity. These lines of memory trace both vulnerability and resilience, transforming the figure into a guardian of cultural echoes.
Through vivid hues of orange and red, layered textures, and striking facial contrasts, the work speaks of continuity between the ancestral and the contemporary, the personal and the collective. It is both a visual poem and a testament to how traditions endure within us.
