Description
An oil painting of a magestic highland cow. The Highland is a traditional breed of western Scotland, they have shaggy coats of brown or red to keep them warm in the Scottish climate. They use their large handlebar-shaped horns to rake up the snow and forage for food in winter, and to defend themselves against predators. The long fringe that covers the Highland Cattle eyes keeps out wind, rain and. in summer, insects that can cause eye infections. I have painted in one eye to give interest and personality to the painting.
This is painted on a birch board and I have left the sides unpainted to show the grain of the wood. The board can be placed in a frame if wished.
