Description
I created a deer head when I was inspired to so by seeing one in Epping Forest, alive and well. Thinking of a trophy head I wanted to do one but imply life, so I chose a time of the day to impart to the sculpture. Using copper appeared appropriate because when heated it can show up hidden colours, reminiscent of the dawn, to me. Copper sheeting is a soft metal so I was able to manipulate it on to a papier mache head, and "embroider" a flower motif also. It is ready to hang on a wall, and is signed/dated on the reverse. It has been coated in resin to maintain the copper colours and protect it.
