Sapphire Dreams Acrylic

In this piece, I wanted to capture a calm, magical forest scene where reality and imagination meet. Blues and greens flow gently across the canvas, with slender birch trees scattered through the glade. Each brushstroke adds mood and movement, inviting the viewer into a semi-abstract woodland that feels warm and familiar. The painting is felt, like stepping into a sunlit clearing and catching the scent of wildflowers on the breeze. It brings a sense of freshness and quiet wonder to any space.
An original artwork, one of a kind, this painting has been created with high quality acrylic paints on deep edged canvas. I begin with observation of the place making notes and taking photographs to work from in the studio. From these beginnings I work intuitively, painting some base layers with a brush and then impasto techniques layer on layer applied with a palette knife. Harnessing optical mixing techniques employed by the impressionists. I continue working until the painting reaches a natural conclusion. The painting is on deep edge canvas, which continues round the sides, a frame is not needed and it is ready to hang.
