Description

Winter Blooming
I have been looking at the work of William Morris and allowed it to seep into my abstract paintings. The paintings are delicate and layered, and give hints of the shape of flowers and leaves, which then seem to become ephemeral. I am playing on the idea of the colour field, which is influenced by studying the palette of Morris, and then allowed to wander where it will.
Acrylic paint on stretched watercolour paper.
The painting is on stretched paper treated with layers of varnish.
