Description:
In this contemplative piece, Delia Zorzoliu transforms the quiet dignity of a 12th-century Romanesque sculpture into a contemporary reflection on faith, endurance, and the passage of time. Inspired by the Annunciation relief housed at Yale University Art Gallery, the artist revives the sacred language of medieval art through expressive texture and luminous gold.
The figure stands between earth and sky, its stillness suggesting both strength and fragility. Layers of pigment, traced with subtle structural marks, evoke the erosion of stone and the persistence of spirit across centuries.
Painted with professional artist-grade colours on acid-free 280gsm canvas pad, the work is fixed with UV-protective spray for long-lasting preservation.
Signed on the front, signed and stamped on the reverse. Certificate of Authenticity included.
