Description
On a visit to California in the 1970s I found the Abalone Shell one morning on the beach at Big Sur. Empty of living mollusc and despite the powerful Pacific surf it was perfect. A prize. The bright California sun dazzled. Seemed captured light. I did this painting years later as an “MFO” - a Most Favoured Object.
