Cretan Wild Flowers Mixed Media

This original painting was inspired by my own photo, taken quite a few years ago, whilst on holiday in Crete. It was a hot day in July and we had hired a car to explore the countryside, and found this beautiful vista in the hills. I can still hear the crickets and smell the warm fragrance of the wild flowers. Its painted in gouache, an opaque watercolour medium, on cold pressed, acid free 200gsm watercolour paper.
