The Field Beyond Oil

The Field Beyond is a semi-abstract yellow and green April meadow landscape with buttercups and pink clover. It is 36x30x1.5 inches. The painting shows a view through grasses and flowers and was built up over several layers of impasto paint. Dark trees line the edge of the field and in the centre of them is an opening into the field beyond which is blurred but inviting. This painting was inspired by April walks in the Burwash area of England (where Rudyard Kipling once lived). It is a magical place which inspired him and inspires me too!
