Making A Splash Pastels

Handsome Andalusian "Barcelo" splashing through the sea, with gentle waves rolling in behind. This painting captures the horse's majestic movement and subtle reflections of the sea, sand and sky. Painted in pan pastels on primed mountboard by established professional Equestrian Artist Lorna Lancaster who is an Associate Member of the Society of Equestrian Artists. My painting style is a blend of impressionism and realism and I painted almost exclusively in Pan Pastels because they give such a painterly look and feel - they are my favourite medium.
