Description
A grove of Silver Birch take the foreground in front of an atmospheric impressionist forest using lots of textured colour . The trees themselves are painted in a textured fashion using a palette knife.
The painting is an imaginative piece which has evolved once the background colours have been painted. It is the background colours that create the atmosphere and depth in the image and then the trees themselves painted with an impasto technique tend to give a 3D effect to the overall painting. Further detail is then added to the foreground which offers suggestions of the forest undergrowth.
The painting is on a large deep stretched canvas, painted around the sides as shown in one of the photos, and is ready to hang. The photo of the painting in situ is true to size giving an idea of what it would look like hung.
