Description
This painting has been created with squeegy and palette knife, following a technique favoured by Gerhard Richter. Oils are an ideal medium to use as they flow well across the canvas so that layers can be created ,scraped back and further layers applied .Different colours are taken up and deposited in other parts of the canvas ,thus creating interesting and colourful shapes and tones .I enjoy the liberating appeal of applying paint in this way ,where you can use dramatic and energetic strokes with the palette knife and squeegy.
