Beautiful Heralds Oil

Beautiful Heralds is a large glowing seascape painting showing sun, sea and sky and arriving swallows. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. The three swallows are delicately painted in contrast to the beaming sun and clouds behind them and the waves rippling to the shore below them. This is another in series of tributes painted to my favourite birds - catching the moment they arrive from further south to make more swallows in the UK. It is a serene and joyous celebration of the continuation of life and the lengths that nature will go to simply survive. The colours are muted by liberal use of thick white paint but are mostly pale buttery yellow, light blue and lilac. The colours of the swallows reflect the colours seen in the sea and sky.
